Felt cover

- Blend of natural wool and synthetic nylon fibers

- Premium balls have a higher proportion of natural wool and the felt is usually woven

- Cheaper balls have a higher nylon content

Rubber core

- consists of either natural rubber or synthetically produced rubber

- the core of premium balls is almost always made of natural rubber

The filling: air or gas

- with unpressurized balls, the two halves of the core are glued together without the addition of air or gas

- Depending on the manufacturer, either air or a gas mixture is fed into the internal pressure balls

- There is no set standard for the internal pressure, which is usually between 1.6 and 2.2 bar
